IMAGINE MORE: Eliminating the Racial Wealth Gap and Ending Poverty

The Eagleton Institute is pleased to co-sponsor "IMAGINE MORE: Racial Justice Begins with Us." This series brings together one of the largest and most diverse lineups of New Jersey organizations and voices from across the ideological spectrum to develop an action plan for racial justice and reparations. Participants include national thought leaders, philanthropic and community-based organizations, policy advocates, jurists, and local activists who have been directly impacted by injustice.

Unequal Voice: A Conversation About Why Men Out-Give Women in State Elections and Why Women Should Give More

We assemble a panel of experts to discuss why women are underrepresented as contributors to state legislative and statewide executive elections, what can be done about it, and how unequal voice impacts the success of women candidates. Panelists will discuss the reports in the CAWP Women, Money, and Politics series—a collaboration between CAWP and OpenSecrets—including the forthcoming report titled The Money Race for the State Legislature.

Walking the Line:
New Jersey Ballots, Candidates, and Voters

The program will begin with a presentation by Professor Julia Sass Rubin from the Bloustein School on her analysis of the impact of the county-based "line" in NJ primaries, with specific analysis of the contests in 2020 and of those in 2021 that will have just occurred. Following Julia's comments, we will hear from four panelists, each of whom has expertise on ballot design and other related election reform issues.
