Sept 9: Reflections on 20th Anniversary of 9/11 with John Farmer

Join Eagleton Institute of Politics and Miller Center for Community Protection and Resilience Director John J. Farmer, Jr. for a conversation about his personal experiences as the New Jersey Attorney General on 9/11, his role as senior counsel on the 9/11 Commission, and his counter-terrorism work.

Ava Majlesi, associate director of the Miller Center for Community Protection and Resilience, will moderate the conversation.

Sept 14: Teaching Civic Engagement Globally

The Eagleton Institute of Politics and the American Political Science Association will host a conversation with the editors and contributors to the new book, Teaching Civic Engagement Globally, as they discuss the need to teach democratic citizenship, the theoretical discussions and challenges regarding global civic engagement education, and successful evidence-based pedagogical approaches for linking democratic education research with action that reflects contemporary global circumstances.

Sept 17: Constitution Day 2021

Join Eagleton’s Center for Youth Political Participation for a virtual 2021 Constitution Day event about the 50th anniversary of the ratification of the 26th Amendment.

In a moderated conversation with Pat Keefer, an original activist of the 26th Amendment and present-day youth activist, Yael Bromberg will lead a discussion on fulfilling the original promise of the 26th Amendment: a guarantee and protection of voting rights for all.
