Ginger Schnitzer

Ginger Schnitzer is the executive director of the Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership at Saint Peter’s University which is dedicated to inspiring and training the next generation of policy makers, elected officials, and engaged citizens. Additionally, in July of 2020 she was appointed to serve as director of the Master of Public Administration Program and associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the university.

Prior to joining Saint Peter’s University in March of 2019, Schnitzer served as the director of government relations for the New Jersey Education Association where she was the chief lobbyist and political strategist for one of the nation’s largest school employee unions.
Schnitzer was elected three times to the Plainsboro Township Committee and served on that body from March of 2000 until October 2008. Previously, she was president of the Plainsboro Public Library Foundation and vice-chair of the Plainsboro Township Zoning Board.
In 2008, Schnitzer was appointed to serve as a member of the Electoral College. She was also a 2005 Leadership New Jersey Fellow.

Schnitzer previously taught public administration/ policy making as an adjunct professor in the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University.

Schnitzer holds a B.A. degree in political science from Rutgers University-Douglass College, as well as a J.D. degree from the Villanova University School of Law and a master of government administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
