This event is presented as part of the Albert W. Lewitt Endowed Lecture Series, an annual lecture delivered by a current or former Member of Congress, a congressional staffer, or an expert on Congress. The series was established in memory of Albert W. Lewitt who worked on Capitol Hill in the 1940s.
About John Raidt
Mr. John Raidt is a former Congressional Staff Director for Senator McCain. He served on the 9/11 Commission and is the author of Politics Inc. Raidt served as the Republican staff director of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
About the Moderator:
Francine Newsome Pfeiffer is the Vice President for Federal Relations at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She directs the university’s Office of Federal Relations in Washington, D.C., where she has worked for 21 years. She and her staff represent the university on a wide-variety of federal appropriations and policy issues, including those impacting student aid programs, institutional governance, research and innovation, immigration, tax and regulatory matters. The office works closely with the New Jersey congressional delegation, national associations of higher education, and federal agencies to represent Rutgers before national policymakers.
