Catherine Tung draws on her experience in New Jersey state government to help clients navigate the legislative process and advance their goals.

Catherine is an experienced government affairs professional with deep knowledge of the New Jersey political and legislative landscape. She advocates for clients across a variety of industries, providing them with strategic advice and insight, and helping them navigate the complex processes and regulations of government.

Catherine is well-known and highly respected in Trenton. Before joining McCarter, she served as the associate executive director of the New Jersey Assembly Office. In this role, she acted as a trusted advisor to the Speaker of the General Assembly and members of the assembly’s Democratic leadership. She worked closely with elected officials and stakeholders on both sides of the aisle to develop public policy in a variety of areas, including sports betting, tax incentive programs, liquor license reform, and water infrastructure. Catherine began her career as an education and government affairs coordinator for the New Jersey Apartment Association, where she was responsible for advocacy efforts on behalf of developers, managers, and owners.
