Record Number of Women Running for U.S. Senate in 2018 After Filing Deadlines in 38 States
With filing deadlines passed in 38 states, a record number of women have filed as major party candidates for the U.S. Senate in 2018. As of June 1st , 42 women – 24 Democrats and 18 Republicans – have filed for candidacy, surpassing the previous high of 40 set in 2016.

Record Number of Women Running for U.S. House in 2018 After Filing Deadlines in Thirty States
With filing deadlines passed in 30 states, a record number of women have filed as major party candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018. As of April 6th, 309 women – 231 Democrats and 78 Republicans – have filed for candidacy, surpassing the previous high of 298 set in 2012.
