New Jersey lawmakers plan hearings to examine ‘breakdowns in oversight’ in long-term care
A Rutgers-Eagleton poll of 1,502 New Jersey residents released last Wednesday found that 77 percent approve of Murphy’s performance as governor, compared with 21 percent who disapprove. A Quinnipiac University poll 941 New Jersey registered voters released the same pegged Murphy’s overall approval rating at 68 percent, with 78 percent approving his performance through the pandemic.

A record number of women have filed to run for House seats in 2020
A record 490 women have filed to run for U.S. House seats in 2020, surpassing the previous record of 476 set in 2018, according to new data from the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University. That figure includes a record 195 Republican women who have filed to run, shattering the previous record of 133 in 2010.

Most N.J. residents support state’s reopening pace from coronavirus lockdowns, but fears run rampant, poll says
The Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released Tuesday also found nearly 8 in 10 are worried they or a member of their house will contract the virus, which has led to more than 9,300 deaths in New Jersey. In addition, 6 in 10 are concerned about being laid off or having their hours or pay cut.
