Heather Escalona is the Assistant Director of the Rutgers Summer Service Internship (RSSI) Initiative with the Eagleton Institute of Politics and Career Exploration and Success. She oversees university-wide experiential education programming that provides provides paid opportunities for students to have meaningful internship experiences in public service and non-profit sectors, and expand their knowledge and skills to engage as active citizens. She is passionate about enhancing experiential educational opportunities for students at Rutgers through equity-centered programming.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Heather worked in the nonprofit sector for more than six years in internship program development, human resource management, and program coordination. While a Rutgers MSW student, Heather also held a two-year teaching assistant position for the Career Management course with the School of Management and Labor Relations where she supported students in achieving professional growth.
