Eagleton Alumni of the Science and Politics Fellowship Gather for Annual Dinner Event

Last week, the Eagleton Science and Politics Program held its annual alumni dinner at Wood Lawn. The team welcomed alums back to Eagleton to network, reminisce, discuss the latest in science, policy, and politics, and to meet the current fellows. Program Director Kristoffer Shields and Program Coordinator Shannon Erwin gave an update on the past, present, and future of the program, and representatives from various Eagleton programs highlighted ways our alums can be involved in the work of the Institute.

The keynote was given by Eagleton Science Fellow alum, Extension Professor, and Director of the Clean Energy Extension at the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Kira Lawrence.  She discussed her career path, including her years spent at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, how the program had affected her life, her role in setting up the fellowship’s Climate Action Track, and the importance of science in today’s policy world.

It was a wonderful evening full of connections and food! Applications are open for our next cohort of Science Fellows—and future alums. Come join us!
